In the mood

Looking outside onto a snow-filled world, I must say that this year, I'm totally in the Christmas mood! :) And after two days of celebration, that mood still hasn't passed...
That's why I'm posting some of my Christmascard-designes that I send out to family and friends this year...

I started making cards with my new angel stamp, which I love :)

Here's a close-up of the edge, which I embossed with gold embossing powder to add a little Christmas-shine :)

But as these were to big to fit in the regular mail, I had to make a card that could...

So this is what I came up with:

As you can see, the two different designes are fairly simple and quick to make.
Otherwise, I still wouldn't have finished all 65 cards by now :)

I hope everyone had a love-filled Christmas and now it's on to New Years eve :):)

09 December 2010

After a few days of utter chaos and total madness at work, I finally found (made) some time to make a new post.

This is a project I did a week or two ago for Jennifer McGuire's final Holiday Thinking Inking class.

I used a couple of the techniques that she showed in her 8 week class and I just loved them!
If anyone knows the art of turning a sheet of plain, white cardstock into a piece of art, it's her!

Here are some of the things I experimented with:
- masking with clear embossing powder and distress ink,
- text-stamping with different colours of distress ink,
- making my own pearlized water with perfect pearls and distress re-inkers.

The pearlized water isn't very clear on the picture, you can see it a bit better here:

Unfortunately, this also shows that I smeared the clear embossing powder while it was still hot. Tried so hard to hide that mistake on the other picture ;)

Gonna catch up on some lost blog-reading time now!! :)
